A letter from our founder and grandfather, Bob Bailey, as he announces to friends and family this new venture in 1962...

Dear Friend:

The Great American Dream of going into business for yourself is about to come true for me. I have worked for Bob Shelley TV & Appliance Company for the past 15 years as a salesman and general manager. During this time, I have learned that a successful sale depends on making you, the customer happy and satisfied with your purchase.

On March 5, 1962, my wife and I are opening a neighborhood Appliance & Television Store at Candler-Glenwood Rd. We will feature ZENITH TELEVISION, RADIO and STEREO HI-Fl, plus the complete line of GENERAL ELECTRIC appliances and TVs. We plan to offer you honest, ethical and reliable neighborly service.

Our aim is to furnish you the BEST appliances, televisions and service possible anywhere and at the LOWEST price possible. We shall offer you a place to do business that is honest, reliable, trustworthy and anxious to serve you.

For your shopping convenience, we will remain open until 9:00 PM every night except Saturday. Anything you can do to help make our "Dream Come True" a success will certainly be appreciated.
